Shams School Website
The Shams School website presents the school's information and updates through a public website backed by an administration area. Staff can manage school content and articles through the application rather than editing the website's source files.
My role
I worked on this website as a Software Engineer & Product Manager at Kabul Code Lab. My contribution included architecture and engineering direction, assigning development tasks, and coordinating the team's shared code through GitHub. I worked with other developers to deliver the website as a team project.
Website and content management
- A public homepage, school information pages, and a homepage slideshow.
- A blog with categories, filtered listings, and individual article pages.
- Administration pages for creating, editing, and deleting blog posts and categories, updating school information, and managing slideshow images.
- A contact form that stores submitted inquiries in the application's database.
Architecture and technology
The website uses C# and ASP.NET Core 8 Razor Pages, with Bootstrap, CSS, and JavaScript for the interface. Entity Framework Core connects its content and user data to SQL Server.
The source separates school content, blog functionality, and users into modules, with shared application, domain, infrastructure, and query components. This gives the public pages and administration area access to the same underlying content services.
